For many of us, swinging away at a scenic golf course is part of the countryside experience, and we have plenty of places to play here in Lakeville. Whether you’re a longtime golfing guru or you’ve yet to carry a club, these golf courses in Connecticut (and our close neighbors) offer hours of club-swingin’ fun at the fairways.
1. Hotchkiss Golf Course (Lakeville, CT)
Practically a putt’s distance from our doors, the Hotchkiss Golf Course offers nine difficult holes, a professional all-weather track, and the utmost convenience for anyone staying at Interlaken. If you need some tips, the Hotchkiss staff are more than happy to provide some pointers — as a few of the holes are particularly challenging, even for intermediate golfers.
2. Canaan Country Club (Canaan, CT)
If you’re a little newer to the golfing game, take a short drive to the Canaan Country Club. The course is more straightforward than others in the area, but equally as alluring. With backdrops of the rolling Litchfield Hills, Canaan is just the spot to relax and put your swing to the test while enjoying full-fledged views of the Connecticut countryside.
3. Copake Country Club (Craryville, NY)
Nestled up against the shores of Copake Lake, Copake Country Club offers magnificent views of the foothills of the Berkshires to complement its 18 holes of play. The club also holds regular live music nights during the summer, so you can get your groove on after an afternoon well-spent on the green.
4. Egremont Country Club (Great Barrington, MA)
Just north in Great Barrington, the Egremont Country Club represents Massachusetts in our lineup of golfing greats near Lakeville. This challenging 18-hole course is best suited for intermediate to advanced golfers — take the fifth hole, which sees several devilish sand traps along with some serene streams (keep your eyes on the ball!).
5. Undermountain Golf Course (Millerton, NY)
Berkshires to the east, Catskills to the west, and nine holes with beautifully-maintained greens and fairways in between. Undermountain Golf Course is an absolute must-see and must-play for golfers making the trip to Lakeville. The course offers alternate tees for a back nine, so even novice players can take their swing and revel in those breathtaking mountain vistas.
6. Interlaken Inn (Lakeville, CT)
Alright, we’re not actually a golf course, but as a golf-going guest here at Interlaken, you’re more than welcome to take a swing at our executive short-game practice facility free of charge. With all these Connecticut golf courses nearby, getting game-ready is simple with a practice green right outside your room at our countryside resort.
