Project Roadmap
Project Kickoff
- Brief introductions to get to know both sides of the project.
- Content & SEO Specialist will walk through SEO research, proposed sitemap/Content Inventory and Google Drive.
- Designer/Developer will discuss the phases of design, website flow, mobilization, launch process, expectations and inspiration sites.
Design
Home Page Design
- An initial homepage design based on the Website Planner and inspiration sites, discussed during kickoff, will be created.
- Client will provide feedback on section flow, color, font, etc.
- Edits and adjustment will be made as needed.
- We'll seek homepage approval once revisions are complete, laying the foundation for the rest of the site.
Approval of the homepage sets the tone and design elemenets for the remainder of the site. This does not mean the homepage is final, as it's likely still using placeholder text and photos.
Ideally, approval will be within 1-2 weeks and is necessary to move forward. The Sitemap should be completed alongside/before homepage approval.
Alpha Phase
- Multiple subpage layouts will be created based on content needs.
- Higher function internal pages/features are built out, e.g., member directories, product filters, timelines, etc.
Beta Phase
- Finalized content will be flowed into the site.
- Larger migrations like events, projects, portfolio, etc. will be migrated/created.
- Implementation of features like membership logins, donation forms, language translations, etc. will be completed.
Mobile Responsive
- We make sure the site is beautiful across all devices.
Content
Preliminary SEO Research
- SEO keyword research will be analyzed and collected in an excel spreadsheet in your Google Drive Folder.
- Google Analytics navigation patterns and behavior flow will be analyzed.
Eternity will need access to client’s Google Analytics.
Sitemap
- A sitemap will be proposed at our kickoff meeting based on the client’s planner and kickoff discussion.
Ideally, approval will be within 1-2 weeks and is necessary to move forward.
Content Creation in Google Drive
- A Google Drive and folders will be created and populated with Docs based on the approved sitemap.
- Upload any photos, videos or files you reference in your content.
- Your Content & SEO Specialist will create and/or edit your website’s content. Refer to the sitemap to identify who’s responsible for each page.
- Once a page has been finished, please notify the Content Specialist it’s approved.
SEO Refinement
- We will work to make final edits to your SEO plan.
Content Approval/Migration
- Client will approve content prior to its migration into the dev site.
- Photos and/or other visual elements will be incorporated into page development.
- Content will be triple-checked for consistency and ensure optimal SEO performance.
Client QA
- You'll be sent a link to your Beta Phase website for one final comb through to make changes or edits.
Eternity Team QA
- The entire Eternity team will act as potential viewers and look at the site with fresh eyes. We'll test for broken links, spelling and grammar errors, if it’s mobile responsive and anything else that can effect the user experience.
Site Launch
August 17th, 2023
- We'll schedule a time for training shortly after launch, typically the following week via screenshare on Slack.
- The new website makes its great debut on the World Wide Web.
Eternity will need access to client’s DNS/Hosting provider.
