A beaming Bride and Groom
I love to taking pictures of the weddings here at Interlaken (as you probably know if you are a regular blog reader.) The pretty ceremony at the lakefront, the reception area under the pavilion, the amazing flower arrangements, the cake, and any other special touches the wedding couple has chosen. This time, however, I am proud to actually show photos with people in them!! And happy ones at that.
Meet Mr. and Mrs. Garelick, united in marriage over Columbus Day Weekend.
We were honored to be the chosen venue to take care of their family and friends for their once-in-a-lifetime event. I am going to venture to say they were pleased with their choice too as witnessed in the bride's review on weddingwire.com:
"My husband and I got married here on 10/13/13. We had the most amazing time ever, largely in part to the event coordinators Stephanie and Brandon. They were extremely helpful throughout the process and made everything stress-free. On the day of the event everything went seamlessly. It is a truly beautiful property and the people there make it even more perfect. I would HIGHLY recommend this place for your wedding or event. The food is also fantastic!"
Thank you, Jen, for sharing some photos. We look forward to seeing many more!
Morgan's on Instagram
This is what Ruby Beet and Coconut soup looks like.
While many local restaurants are serving the typical butternut squash (and there is nothing wrong with that!), here at Morgan's Restaurant we are offering this bright and creative soup to start your evening meal. It's delicious along with our cottage dill rolls.
A Private Party
Normally every weekend we have a combination of Track visitors, Wedding Guests, School parents, Romantic Couples, Retreat Participants, and Families. This weekend, however, "everybody knows your name". A property-wide wedding is taking place and the festivities began early Friday and will go right until Noon on Sunday.
Friday began with canoeing on the back lake to the Mary Peters Memorial Park. A Food Truck arrived for the Rehearsal dinner with brick oven pizzas (and more) for all Guests to enjoy while the air was filled with jazz music. A bonfire with dark and milk chocolate for s'mores (complimented with Octoberfest) by the lakefront concluded the first day of their special weekend.
Today arrives and the sky is blue, the temperature is comfortable and the colors at the lake are perfect for their lakeside ceremony. This time of year is just so beautiful.
Although you can take a leisurely walk to the ceremony site, this adorable limo trolley was available for all Guests to enjoy.
The Bride is planning to arrive at the ceremony in this Old Time Checker Cab (which was in the movie "When Harry Met Sally" among many others).
Let the party begin under the wedding pavilion! There's a photo booth inside to capture every moment.
Truly where "Everybody knows your name" - first names only that is!
Set for 190 Guests, our staff was ready to provide each Guest with a Kale Salad with Lemon Olive Oil Dressing and Zucchini Carpaccio, Pinenuts, Lemon Oil & Basil as the first courses. Guest could then choose either Black Cod with Soy Butter Sauce & Green Onion and Sesame Seed Garnish, Filet Grass Fed Beef with Mushrooms & Thyme, Portobello Mushroom stuffed with Quinoa, Spinach, Pinenuts & Red Pepper Sauce or Chickpea Stew with Red Peppes, Zucchini, Coconut Milk, Brown Rice and Harissa. All to be accompanied by root vegetables and green beans with lemon zest and roasted garlic.
In addition to this amazing cake above, this table below will soon become a pie bar. Yes, many fresh pies all baked by Freund's Farm Market and Bakery. Every flavor imaginable is represented and available ala mode with fresh whipped cream and toppings as well. As if this isn't enough, there will be dark chocolate covered strawberries and a cookie tray at each table.
Flowers by Country Gardeners.
The party will continue in Morgan's with late night snacks such as vegetarian tacos and guacamole and chips, and plenty of Corona.
The special weekend will be concluded with a Sunday Brunch for all Guests with a bagel bar, an oatmeal bar, New York bagels, an omelet station, hashbrowns and pancakes.

Thorncrest Farm & Milk House in Goshen, CT has shared with us their amazingly delicious and fresh chocolate creations - and we are all in love. (my favorite are their sea salt caramels) You can taste the freshness of their chocolates and this is why: "The Magic is in our Milk":
The foundation for Milk House Chocolates is our signature milk...

This ensures they are fed the finest sweetest hay and natural feeds; from this they produce this pure signature milk Milk House Chocolates brings you artisanal chocolates made in small batches one at a time with our fresh milk, cream and butter. I do indulge in chocolate often and could truly taste the difference in Milk House. Try it yourself.
The phones at Interlaken are busy ringing and the question we are asked the most is "How are the colors right now?"
"Gorgeous" I say.
It has been an amazing fall season in New England. Sunny days and warm temperatures.
Even though the Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP) says we are on the last day of the Peak Season in this area, I say we still have alot of more colorful beauty to see in the next couple of weeks. There is still much green tucked in amongst the bright displays of yellow, reds, and oranges. It's really quite stunning and worth the drive to see us and surround yourself in this amazing beauty. We've got some great mid-week packages to take advantage of - the Fall Foliage Escape Package is certainly an appropriate choice! Come see us before Autumn "leaves" us in 2013!
