A Sweet Suite
You heard it hear first. Our new Penthouse Suite is coming soon!
Although many Guests would see the Penthouse sign in our main building and assume it was a Guestroom, it was in fact a small meeting room for many years, perfect gatherings for groups of 20 or less, and cozy intimate dinner gatherings, such as this from Thanksgiving 2012:
We then added a large screen TV and called it our "Skip Barber Racer's Lounge" where race fans could relax and meet up with other lime rock visitors. With a few years of talk about making it into a premier Guestroom at Interlaken, demolition began in early 2014 and the room is approaching completion and is set to be ready for sale in late March. I hope all goes according to plan as I am quite anxious to see this beauty set atop our main building roof with distant views of Lake Wononscopomuc, perhaps enjoyed from the rooftop hot tub?! Want some more details that are in the works? OK, click here! I won't tease you any further, you'll just have to wait and see how it all comes together.
So you heard it here first and you'll see it here first as I'll be sure to post photos at its unveiling in a few short weeks. We love improving our spaces!
National Craft Month!
What a great way to kick off National Craft Month with the arrival of our Scrapbook ladies this weekend! There are so many familiar faces in this group, all bringing more paper supplies than they do luggage! The creative spirit is alive as one wanders through the two meeting rooms - and so does the smell of Peanut Butter! Yes, it's also National Peanut Butter Day and we had to acknowledge that with our ladies with some warm peanut butter cookies and a wide selection of Reese's candies. Not part of the scrapbook group? No worries - celebrate with our Peanut Butter Semi-freddo special this evening in Morgan's restaurant!
The crafting month celebration does not stop here! Next weekend we will welcome back an intimate group of scrapbookers to a Townhouse Suite, and then two more Quilting groups will be joining us later this month. Have a craft group that needs a place that has lots of space for everyone, has lots of good food and snacks, and a happy staff to take care of their every need? We are your place! Contact Kristy Barto (kristy-at-interlakeninn.com) for more information on booking your crafting retreat!
Boy, Mother Nature sure gave us a dose of Spring this past weekend, didn't she? I could hear the birds chirping, see the green leaves, smell the lilacs, taste fresh asparagus, and touch an earthworm... OK, everything but the earthworm... but really the 45+ degree temperatures in this area for 3 days has got all of us here in Northwestern Connecticut clamoring for more! We know this is coming and is worth the wait:
It's Your Lucky Day!
You don't have to be Irish to take advantage of this fun package we've created to celebrate St. Patrick's Day! Not only does our St. Patrick's Day Package include the option of a traditional corned beef and cabbage dinner, but the price of the package is "as rare as hen's teeth"! Also included is a "pint of Gat" (aka Guinness) for each of you, as well a breakfast that will start your "top of the mornin'" perfectly! The package is available on Saturday, March 15th as well as Monday, March 17th. Wear your green and come have a "whale of a time" at Interlaken!
