Tea for Two – with Harney and Sons!
Or shall I say Tea for Three? I have been drinking tea since I was eight. I remember sitting at my grandmother’s big kitchen table every Sunday afternoon with her and my mom, sipping tea out of dainty fine bone china teacups. I have been a huge tea drinker ever since, and nowadays, I love my tea with just a smidge of milk, and no sugar whatsoever. Everywhere I go I have tea, and there are plenty of tea brands out there – but I haven’t found one that beats my very favorite – Harney and Sons. Their company began in Salisbury, CT many years ago, and recently their headquarters moved across the border to Millerton, NY. They have a tea tasting room over in Millerton as well, and certainly a place for all tea lovers to visit. We are proud to serve Harney and Sons tea (both hot and iced) in our restaurant, as well as in our lobby each morning. When you visit us (www.interlakeninn.com) be sure to save some time to visit their tea tasting room, just 5 minutes away – find a gift of tea for yourself, or that tea lover on your list. You will not be disappointed!
P.S. Be sure to try their new line of bottled Organic iced teas – they are fabulous!

Are you ready for a Culinary Challenge?
I hope the two corporate groups that are arriving next week are! It is such a unique teambuilding experience, and it adds a fun element to the standard “conference meeting agenda” that some companies have. It’s similar to something that you would see on the Food Network. Let me tell you about it: the group is divided into teams, and each team is given a work station. At each station, our Chef’s have put out about 10 ingredients that the team must use entirely. The challenge is to make up a menu for one appetizer and one entree, and then prepare those items using all of the ingredients. There is also a “pantry station” available to all teams so they can add what they need to make the perfect tasting dish. So it may be easy to write “Poached salmon with artichoke hearts” on the menu – but then to have to make it so it’s edible is another thing! Interlaken Chefs then taste the items from each team and then give scores for creativity, taste, and presentation. You know, I’m thinking I may wish to volunteer to be a judge, because if you’ve been reading my Blogs, I LOVE FOOD! Anyway, if you’d like to don an Interlaken apron and have your group be “culinaried challenge”, then give Kristy Barto, our Corporate Sales Manager, a call at 1-800-222-2909 ext 777 or send her an e-mail for an RFP at email@example.com.
