Create your Memories!
We are fortunate enough to have another Creative Memories group visiting us this weekend, for the second week in a row! This group is based out of Dutchess County, NY, and they visit us once in the Spring and once in the Fall. They do the same thing each time they are here: scrap, crop, laugh, drink wine, have contests, attend demos, get ideas, have gourmet meals, scrap, stay up late, get up early, and put together their life memories with paper and photos! We have 43 women in our two conference rooms, each with their own work station – which of course they need as you can see from all of their supplies! I absolutely love walking through the ladies, watching them be creative – I always walk away with a few good ideas! The leader of this Creative Memories group is Teri Meiers from Poughquag, NY. Teri has been involved with Creative Memories for eight years, and she has been the “Legendary Leader” for 2 of the last 3 years. (A Legendary Leader means she is one of the top 10 leaders of Creative Memories in the entire USA – way to go, Teri!). If you are interested in becoming a member or a consultant for Creative Memories, feel free to contact Teri – she would love to welcome you to her group and the world of scrapbooking! You can reach Teri at firstname.lastname@example.org, or at 845-223-6022. If you are tired of hearing me talk about bringing your scrapbooking team (or other crafty group) to the Interlaken property, then contact Kristy Barto, our Sales Manager (email@example.com). We would love to be the weekend host your creative event!
Less than a dozen!
So a Baker’s dozen is 13, but what is one less than a dozen called? If there is a name, let me know! Otherwise, why am I asking, is what you are asking? That is how many available wedding dates we have left in the year 2010! Since I am in the process of taking apart our wedding scrapbook album and putting in some fabulous new photos (compliments of Eric Limon, a one of a kind photographer from nearby Massachusetts) – I am surprised there are any dates left! Mr. Limon captures our property perfectly – the gorgeous ceremony held lakeside, the casual cocktail hour on the lawn, Guests dining and dancing under the wedding pavilion, photos of the Bride and Groom sharing a private moment amongst the birch trees – there are just too many perfect picture moments to write about! And this property in autumn? Let’s just say “WOW”! Come see the property for yourself, check out the new wedding album – and see if Interlaken is the perfect place for you and your sweetheart to say “I DO”! Email Brandon Scimeca at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information on hosting the perfect Connecticut Wedding Weekend for your family and friends!
2010 Swim Championships are here!
It is a pretty exciting weekend for our friends and neighbors at the Hotchkiss School – it’s finally time for the New England Preparatory School Swimming and Diving Championships, hosted right next door to Interlaken at the Hotchkiss campus in Lakeville, CT on March 6th and 7th. Approximately 450 girls and boys from across New England will compete in the event, with the girls event on Saturday and the competition for the boys on Sunday. This will be the second year that Hotchkiss will host this major event at the Hixon pool. If you can’t make the actual event, you can follow live scoring updates at the NEPSSA website. We are happy to be accommodating the families and friends of those competing this weekend!
As I was enjoying 100% pure maple syrup atop my buckwheat pancakes this morning, I was wondering how I could make my breakfast even more perfect – and that would be FRESH 100% pure maple syrup! And in a few weeks, that is possible: Sharon Audubon, located 10 minutes away from the Interlaken in Sharon, Connecticut, is hosting its annual MapleFest on Saturday, March 20th from 10am to 4pm. Tours run throughout the day, and guests will have the opportunity to see how sap is collected from their Sugar Maple Trees and turned into fresh maple syrup. The syrup is available for purchase as well. Last year over 200 people took advantage of the tours – so call us today to make your official plans to stay with us on the official First Day of Spring 2010 and enjoy MapleFest!
Hobby Happiness at Interlaken Inn!
The snow didn’t stop the traveling of these two groups to the Interlaken this weekend! In fact, many decided to come a day early, just to make sure they made it and to get a head start on their favorite hobbies. We have a knitting group from Westchester County joining us for their third year. Picture this: a large, cozy meeting room complete with fireplace, beverages (dark hot chocolate) and snacks (warm chewy pretzels) – and 30 women knitting, talking, laughing into the wee hours of the morning. The scrapbooking group has returned for the 4th year and this group is more of a ladies reunion – 15 women that have known each other for a very long time that get together around the topic of scrapbooking – their kids, their pets, their vacations, their everyday moments. It’s so wonderful to have all these ladies returning to our property, cherishing all of their memories, and making new ones this weekend!
