A Spring Wedding
If you are considering getting married in May, I suggest that you call Brandon Scimeca and make an appointment to take a tour of the property this very instant! I was just strolling through the grounds – the sun is shining, the grass is freshly mowed, the gardens freshly mulched, the foliage couldn’t be more lush and green – it’s simply beautiful! Even though we have a scrapbook of how our property looks at every season, nothing beats standing in the middle of it all to get the true effect! Make your appointment today! And check back as I’ll be posting pictures of the wedding this weekend!
Conservation of Energy – love it!
As you know, if you have been faithfully reading my blogs (thank you very much if you do!), that Interlaken is now certified as a CT Green Hotel, and we are quite proud to be one! Just because we have been certified doesn’t mean we will sit on our laurels and not continue on with making more “green” improvements. A big one we are looking into, with the help of ConServ Inc. out of Tolland, CT will be a new lighting system for every building on property. ConServ works to protect and conserve energy through more efficient lighting solutions, and Interlaken is thrilled to be able to work with this company in helping to protect the environment. Perhaps the bathroom light in your room will come on only when it senses your presence?! Hey, you never know!
The “Prize” Swing at The Interlaken Lakefront
Well, at least it was called that yesterday! It was a perfect Spring day, and I was feeling generous, so I hopped in my car and headed to the lake with a gift certificate in hand. I told myself that if there was a couple sitting in one of the new cedar swings that I would give them a complimentary night’s stay. As fate would have it, there was a couple swinging away, looking out over the water, just enjoying each other’s company and their beautiful surroundings. How surprised and happy they were when I told them it was their lucky day and that their next stay is on us! They were so thankful, and I believe the husband said he was also going to play lotto to see if he got lucky there too! So when you come to stay with us, be sure to swing in our cedar swings at our Lakefront - you never know when it will be your lucky day too!
Lime Rock Track is humming today!
Even though their official opening day happens Memorial Day weekend (this year is the first time for the Grand Am Rolex Daytona Prototypes to visit the track!), there is something happening at the track every weekend. Today, the BMW – Connecticut Chapter is showing us their stuff, as spectators tolerate the major HEAT out there today! Every weekend until the big Opening Day there is something happening, and with only a 6 minute ride from the Interlaken to the track, you won’t have to drive fast to get there in time! We have some availability for the rest of the weekends in May, so check below to find out what event you wish to see, and give us a call to make your reservations today!
VSCCA on the 7th & 8th
SCCA on the 14th & 15th
Audi Quatro on the 21st & 22nd
Grand Am Rolex Daytona Prototypes on the 28th – 31st
Check out Lime Rock Park’s home page for a full schedule and list of events!
It’s just like riding a bicycle…
You know how the saying goes, and this weekend, we have two groups staying with us and bicycling in the Berkshires! One group celebrates their “opening-away weekend” at Interlaken and has done so for many years now, traveling up from Long Island. Now, when I say “bicycling” I am not referring to my definition, which is “just a couple of miles” but biking for miles and miles, leaving Connecticut, heading to the Berkshire Hills, and crossing into New York State, and then of course circling back to Interlaken property. Being that close with nature is amazing, and what a work-out with all of the hilly terrain! Can you imagine what they must eat for all of the energy they will need? Good thing we have great healthy food and lots of it for these groups all weekend! Are you part of a bicycle club and would like to tour your group through this beautiful part of New England? You know who to contact, and that is firstname.lastname@example.org! Don’t forget your helmet and water bottle!
