A relaxing Spring Morning
There's something so peaceful about an early morning on a Spring Sunday at the Interlaken, and one of my favorite times to walk the property.
Most Guests are still sleeping, so I am greeted by the birds chirping, the sky so blue, the air so calm, and the grass so dewy. The freshness of Spring always amazes me, and although I've seen this view so many times before, it always makes me smile. I am so fortunate to work in this beautiful setting and to welcome Guests to enjoy it with me.
Looks like some Guests did decide to enjoy this lovely morning outdoors too! A wonderful way to start the day is with a cup of Harney & Sons Irish Breakfast, Mr. Harney's favorite tea himself.
A Guest shared this comment with me: "The location is very peaceful and beautiful" and "I loved being surrounded by nature". I totally agree.
By no means is this picture a glamorous one, but it's certainly worth a look, and definitely a feel.
This is just one of our 60 new Sealy Posturepedic Yeadon Plush Euro top mattresses, now in every Queen bedded main building room here at Interlaken. This mattress is topped fresh each stay with 300 thread count sheets, a wonder blanket, a top sheet and four 400 thread count pillows - and along with our Commitment to Clean - will guarantee you the most comfortable night's sleep ever.
Presenting the Penthouse Suite!
Here is the latest addition to the Interlaken Inn Room Family - the Penthouse Suite.
It's lovely - and already booked for many dates this summer. Call us to make reservations so you too can be one of the very first ones to stay in the newest and most special accommodation ever.
National Photograph Month
May, among many things, is National Photograph Month. Although I could share many favorite photos of Interlaken over the years, I'd thought I'd pick some that may give you some info about Interlaken that perhaps you weren't aware of.
This photo was taken on the second floor of our Main Building in a King bedded room. Each room has a private screened in deck and this is its view. Guests will ask what the view is like, and this photo shows perfectly our lush green courtyard as well as the distance to the pool.
This photo shows the location of our private Lakeside Cottage and how close the Cottage is to the lake. Some Guests don't realize we are nestled in between two lakes (Lake Wononscopomuc and Lake Wononapakook) and this is the only accommodation that sits right at the shores of what we call "the back lake". (Our front lake is open to all of our Guests for canoeing, kayaking, swimming, etc.). When Guests rent the Lakeside Cottage, this entire area is completely private. Needless to say, it's seclusion will take all your worries away.
Morgan's Restaurant at Interlaken is truly "farm-to-table". This photo shows greens and veggies picked fresh this morning from a local farm to be used on the evening menu. Can't be any fresher than that.
I have many lovely pictures of the "front" lake, but this one catches my eye. I love how the chairs are lined up and ready to go - its like they are saying "we are ready to serve you". And serve you with relaxation and a wonderful view of the deepest lake in Connecticut. Perfect for swimming, fishing and canoeing/kayaking.
Lastly, here's a photo of a bonfire happening at our front lake. Bonfires can be arranged after a Rehearsal dinner, for a corporate retreat, for a family reunion - really any time you are in the mood for a hot fire, s'mores and some hot cocoa.
