That is your magic code for a new package that gives back to you because you will contribute in making a child happy this holiday season.  Introducing our new Holiday Shopping Package, and let me tell you - this is truly a gift for you as well!  (I had to read it twice to make sure I was reading it right!).  This package offers a terrific discount in your room rate (all rooms in our main house have new bedding, by the way), gives you 25% off your dining check in Morgan's restaurant (the perfect time to try one of the wonderful entrees I always blog about) and then gives you a holiday gift guide with a list of local participating shops offering you further discounts to buy for others or treat yourself.  We just ask two things from you:

Five reservations

I just took five reservations for our popular New Year's Eve package - we all know it is not too early to start making the plans now, especially if it's a group of you that will need accommodations in the same area.  Although there are rooms still available, our main building is already getting limited.  If you prefer this area, please give us a ring soon!  Dancing, dining, drinks - the sounds of Scott Heth and company will keep you celebrating to midnight and beyond!  Click here to find out more details!

I especially needed to see these photos now, particuarly after seeing how our property was affected by the snow storm from a few weeks ago.  Although we didn't have any structural damage, we did lose many trees and also many branches from trees.  Monroe Tree Company came and gave them some TLC to them so hopefully by next Spring they'll look just as pretty as this one.

Boardwalk, Park Place, Interlaken?

Yes, that is right - these places are all properties in the game of MONOPOLY.  OK, maybe not the game of MONOPOLY you already have at home or one you can buy in the store, but Interlaken was special enough in "George C's" life to have it included as a property on his "Make your own opoly game" he received as a gift from his family on his 80th birthday.  He has been coming to the Interlaken for many years, both for group business and also with his family, friends and pets.  His latest visit with us was this past July in our lake cottage.  I am sure Mr. C has seen many changes over the years - but there is something consistently special about this place for him to keep us in his lives for so many years.  Thank you George!

QUILTing time is a TREASURE!

This was us last Saturday!

It has been a very long week for everyone living in Connecticut and other parts of New England thanks to last Saturday's snow storm.  Although many parts of Connecticut are up and running, there are still thousands without power.  The Quilting group staying with us this weekend called often this week to check up on our power status - sewing machines are a necessity when it comes to quilting!  By Tuesday evening 80% of our property had power so we had good news to report!  I was fortunate enough to speak to one woman who was traveling from Rochester for the quilting weekend, a weekend that she looks forward to every year.  With the roads clear and the power up she wasn't going to let Mother Nature interfere with her special weekend.  She came early so she could spend some time with her mom, aunt and sister before the quilting time began - it was a pleasure to meet you and your family, Deb! 

If you read my blog then you know I am big into the creative weekends - scrapbooking, quilting, knitting - such wonderful hobbies!  As Deb's sister told me, and of course I had to agree - our property is the perfect place to hold any one of these kind of retreats - we have plenty of rooms, plenty of good food and plenty of work space! 

This Quilts & Treasures group has been coming to the Interlaken for about 8 years now - and what a nice and friendly group of ladies and one man it is - always willing to share what they are working on.  They each made runners, had a show and tell - and how does a jelly roll race sound?  At first Deb said "the race" and I said "I'm out" but then she said the "jelly roll race" and I said "I'm back in!"  But, it wasn't the kind of yummy race I was thinking of - and all of you quilting folks will know exactly what it is! 

This group got to know the knitting group next door to them, as well as some of the guys from the Electric Company.  Yes, we can accommodate just about any kind of group you've got - so give us a call so we can plan your group getaway!
